Light concept
For my project I am going to focus on the different feelings light can create. For example shadows and dim light create an eerie and spooky feeling while bright sunlight is relaxing and calm. Since these photos will be in black and white I am going to try to make the atmosphere and composition of the photo very consistent with the lighting conditions.
Light Project Concept
My concept for the light project is childhood. For my project, I will be shooting photos of children and of children's toys. I intend my photos to be fun and happy as a take pictures of kids. Some photos will also be chaotic, as we know that children are.
Light Project Theme
For my project, the theme will be dominance, politically, economically, and socially. Through this I will cover political imperialism, social control, and other ways of imposing dominance. This includes tactics such as by force and by persuasion. My photos will cover a range of subjects representing differences in ideologies, cultures, and socioeconomic positions.
light project concept
For my light project i am going to be shooting platonism because lillie suggested it.
MOTHER RUSSIA
The theme I HAVE MOST BEEN EVER EXCITED ABOUT is inspired by my favorite part of history: communism. I would most like to focus on the Bolsheviks in Russia, probably having Margaret Commander represent Lenin and somebody else represent Stalin. I would also like to focus on Chinese communism and the CCP, so I will do something with Mao Zedong and the Cultural Revolution. I AM SO EXCITED.
Light Project Theme
For my project, I am going to photograph images representing metaphorical interpretations of light, such as religion, family, and/or friends. In other words, I am going to photograph the things that bring people out of dark moments in their lives. I may try to create a storyline with my photos, where the first in the series represents a person lost in a state of darkness. As the story progresses, the photos will show the different things they used to move out of their dark area. At the finish, the photo will represent the state at which they are back in the light and in total awareness.
lonely light
My theme for this project is going to be ~lonely light~. I will be taking photographs of light sources that are isolated and that are basically giving light to nothing. >:(
light project theme
For my light project I will continue my theme (comparing natural and artificial light) from last year by trying to replicate the photos exactly the same way and comparing my digital to my film.
Concept
My concept for the light project is going to be dark side versus a light side. In my photos I plan to show someone's dark side, but in a different photo showing their light side.
Theme
For my light project, my theme will be grief. Someone grieving and searching hope.
film light project
For my film light project, I plan to base my images off of music influences. Wether the image represents the way a certain artist or song makes me feel, a certain aesthetic based off of an album cover or artist, etc. I am undecided if I want to do it on music legends, current artists, or a mix of both.
my theme~~~~
I am going to make photos that seem ethereal and heavenly. I might do some photos that have silhouettes to look like an other worldly force or to look like heaven. Using light will easily go with my concept of heaven and ethereal things to photograph.
concept
My concept for my light project is to capture the beauty at Blue Cypress park in Jacksonville Florida. There are many elements at this park that I think could brought out through photography. I intend to utilize the abandoned pool. I also would like to photograph along the boardwalk.
press concept
my concept is modernization and how artificial light and things are taking over the natural beautiful light
mine
For my light project I am going to continue with my landscape project and carry onto what my documentary will be about. So grocery stores and gas stations with no people. Somewhat looking like everyone disappeared.

Concept
For my still life project my concept is going to be mismatch. I am going to shoot things that do not go together and try to make them fit together in an image pleasing to the eye. I was inspired by marcel Christ who makes very aesthetically pleasing colorful images using things that do not necessarily go together.

food blog
For my blog post, I decided to take a picture of the table I was at when I went to Burgerfi with a few friends because because I liked all the monochromatic tones that really made the image feel warm but also unhealthy, just like burgerfi is. I think this photo would have been better if I was not using the lense I had on my camera at the time because it is a zoom lense so I was not able to capture more of the table, environment in the restaurant, and more of the food. I think this picture is slightly chaotic but I do not think it necessarily takes away from the picture. Since this is a still life, I wanted to create a feeling where it seemed slightly chaotic and realistic.
Food
Since it is halloween, for my photo, I thought of candy and how it makes people feel. Personally, when I think of candy, I think of happiness and sweetness. In a symbolic way, there is a lot of happiness in this photo because of the amount of candy. However, you could view candy in a negative way, in the sense that is unhealthy.
glitter pics yo

This is my plate because its food i enjoy. The glitter is there because of the additives that are in normal food. The glitter makes it look pretty but the taste is better w/o it.
For my still life I am going to shoot different types of drinks with different cups to show the variation. Much like the variation in people. The cups represent different people and the drink represents their different personalities.
food
For my food project I decided to photograph meat because my family and I have this inside joke that we are carnivores because we eat a lot of meat for lunch and dinner.
Food Project
For this project, I chose not to photograph an actual meal. Instead, I broke the meal down, looking at its ingredients. I think the monochromatic color gives the feeling of blandness. I tired to create this feeling in order to demonstrate the way the simplicity of these ingredients. Although I didn't take photos of a coherent meal, my photo looks deeper than the simple surface level.
festive food
My theme for this project is holiday or event themed desserts. I used typical aspects of the holiday or things that i felt represented the holiday. I wanted to use different forms of light and different focal points to allow the viewer to react in a personalized way to the photos. I wanted to capture the food but also the importance of the food in relation to the event. i used Christmas, Thanksgiving, and a birthday because those are some of the most important times of the year for families.

not my best image but blog
My concept for next week has to do with fast food, so I made my blog for this week also about fast food.
phoebe
For this project, I tried to capture an alternate way of making a certain food. For my example, I put a soft taco in the oven. It still tasted good.
rainbow food
I really like this image, it turned out better than I thought it would. I really think this is one of my best images. I retrieved all these fruits and veggie from my fridge.
mini still life
For my image I photographed candy because that's what I ate for dinner on Halloween lol. I dumped out a bunch of candy on my dining room table and my camera had a five second exposure. I tuned on the flash so that the candy wrappers looked very vibrant. During the 5 second exposure I zoomed the camera lens in and out.
Mini Food Project
My project displays somewhat two of my attitudes when eating. The first photo is a really good savory bagel pictured on my bed, which is what I feel like eating most of the time haha. Eating in bed is just such a comfort-- if you're eating what you want you might as well eat it when you're comfy right?? The second photo was me feeling healthy pictured on my bright windowsill because it is a really nice looking meal and nutritionally well-viewed. These were two very yummy meals and I enjoyed them.
Picture
For my photo, I tried to show the little details in the image. Everything is purposely set up, the fork position, the icing on the fork, and others. I also tried to let the colors flow as it is a dark cake on a dark background with a dark colored fork. All though there are a lot of dark colors, the orange and white on the cake make the image pop and pleasing to the eye.
Object
For this project I was trying to capture the different ways food is served and then eaten by not only the composition of the image but also the lighting. My first image of sushi captures a more separate way of serving and eating dinner. I placed the sushi plates away from each other and intentionally cropped out the ends of the chopsticks to convey a separate feeling. For my second image I tried to capture another way of eating, more of a casual family style. I positioned the forks more casually and tried to use warmer lighting to show this concept.

Concept
For my project, I plan on photographing monochromatic still life images, whose main focus revolves around nature. I plan on having the main focus of the image surrounded by non-natural items that contribute to the monochromatic state of the image. I was inspired by Stella Alesi, as many of her still life photographs are monochromatic.
welcome to moes
well, for my project, i wanted to show how sad my meals are. several months ago, after seeing a meme about takeout trays floating, i decided to try it. the saddest part is when i told my friend about this, she said "haha you don't have enough time with your classes so you have to eat and bathe at the same time!" i just laughed along, but truly, i just eat in the bath because it is the only place in my void of a home that is warm. i actually cannot get warm under the covers of my own bed. what is not pictured is a chair with my laptop playing whatever sad episode of whatever sad tv show im watching. because my life is that sad. it is just that sad :3
My goal for this project was to show which dinners my siblings and I look forward to or dread the most through the lighting of the photograph. Baked chicken with rice and carrots is among the most dreaded dinners we have, so I placed the meal on a dark table and underexposed. On the other hand, spaghetti and bread is a dinner my siblings and I look forward to, so I made the image much brighter, and attempted to make the meal look more appealing. I intentionally left the oven door open in the image with the spaghetti and bread to show how the bread was freshly made. I think I was successful in conveying the dreaded and not-so-dreaded dinners through the lighting in these photographs, because the spaghetti looks much more appetizing than the chicken.

concept
My concept for the still life project is melting. In this project, I will be melting items like crayons and ice cream, etc. to represent how quickly we are growing up. There were two still life photographer in particular that inspired me to come up with this idea. The main artist who inspired me to come up with this theme is Vanessa Mckeown, she has many inspiring pictures with interesting colors. The other artist is Dennis Pedersen, she is a very creative artist who does a lot of still life.

Blog post for theme
For my big project, I will attempt to convey how adding a simple shadow to any image can give it an unsettling/eerie feeling. A photographer who I am taking some inspiration from in Jason Tjintjelaar. I feel that his work best exemplifies the point I am trying to convey. Most of my images will be in black in white, because I am also trying to get used to that look on images, looking forward to darkroom work. Theoretically, if I were to take a picture of a child's doll in studio with no shadow on it, it would probably give off a playful and childlike feeling. To prove my point, if I were to cast a shadow over said doll, the image would then give off a very unwelcoming and eerie vibe. I am excited to be working with this theme.

Shrek Life
My still life idea is utilizing the characters from the Shrek movie and associating them each with a color scheme. The concept is Shrek and how each character can be portrayed through colors and objects. I am choosing 6 characters and matching them with colors then creating images that portray the character through a set of still life objects in the color they match with.
I am choosing and matching the following, and this also shows the ideas I have for the items I will use in them:
I am choosing and matching the following, and this also shows the ideas I have for the items I will use in them:
Lighting techniques:
Shrek- candlelit look, dark background and focus on olives and bring candlestick (in studio black)
Fiona-
Donkey- bright and happy lighting shining on waffle maker, maybe try spotlight (in studio white)
Lord Farquad- dramatic and rich lighting, like a candlelit dinner (at home)
Gingerbread Man- mid-bright light, possibly lamp over gingerbread house, cozy lighting (at home)
Dragon- bright, well lit, focus well on onion (in studio white)
Props and Color Palette:
Shrek (green)—green jello/slime or green olives in fancy container, light candle stick
Fiona (blue)—princess crown from dollar store w blue flowers and maybe sunflowers sort of old w blue ribbon
Donkey (grey/b&w)—waffles or waffle maker
Lord Farad (red)—red velvet cake on red velvet w glass of red wine
Gingerbread Man (brown)—gingerbread man or house
Dragon (purple/pink)-- big purple onion cut open
I'm pulled inspiration specifically for the pictures that will include photographing food from Annabelle Breakey, who always has perfectly lit photos and the food always looks really appealing
I also chose Stephanie Gonot as an inspiration because her photos are largely based off color and the way she places color with the objects she photographs is always really well done. Her aesthetic matches mine well.
Still Life Project
For this project, I am going to try to capture images of both healthy foods and unhealthy foods. In studio, I will try to capture interesting images of unhealthy foods. For this, I will use foods like chips, candy, and food like cupcakes. With the chips, for example, I will try to organize them in an interesting pattern. I will use the black background and bright lighting to help make the food pop, or, I will use dark lighting in order to help further convey the feeling of unhealthiness. Out of studio, I am going to try to capture images of healthy foods. To do this, I will use different types of fruits, such as watermelon, strawberries, or bananas, or I will use salads. With the watermelon, for example, I am going to chop it up, put it in a clear bowl, and try to find a place that has nice bright lighting with a lake or some other body of water behind it. The bright lighting will help convey the happiness some one feels when they do eat healthy. I am not basing my project on any photographer's ideas.
foooooood
For my project I am going to capture fast food as inviting instead of uninviting and repulsive. I will use vibrant background colors and complex angles in my photos. I got my inspiration from Marcus Nilsson's ad campaign for Weight Watchers. Most of my inspiration came from this photo:
My project will be somewhat a carry on from the blog assignment based on Laura Letinsky's still life images. I am not quite sure what lighting i will use in my project but i will most likely end up using the same lighting in Marcus Nilsson's image above. For my color palette I will use colors that accentuate the food in my image but don't quite match the colors of the food.
JELLOOOOO
For my project I am going to submerge everyday objects and nature in either jello or resin. This concept will be similar to Jason Horowitz flowers portfolio. He had multiple flowers, stems and roots in resin and shot up close through the resin. see ex. below: http://jasonhorowitzfineart.photoshelter.com/index/G0000WDCi7y42u7k/I0000vyBKJgq4nn0
i will be shining lighting through both sides of the jello or resin, from behind the camera and in front of the camera. I would love to put frozen bees in jello for one of my photos. I would also try to capture unconventional objects like a toothbrush in a jello of a complimentary color. I would like this project to have an awkward and retro feel using antique objects and cutting the jello into shapes. There wouldn't be an exact concept or correlation between the objects but the constant would be some sort of jiggly substance.

still life
My theme is turning "ugly" things into pretty things. I will photograph "ugly" things such as a frog or moldy food. I plan on using dark lighting and a spotlight on my object for it to stand out. I will try to make the "ugly" things pretty. My ugly objects will have dull colors and their makeovers will be very colorful and I probably will be using bows and glitter. I want the oxymoron in my photos to be very obvious. My inspiration comes from aleksandra kingo. She photographs very random objects with a twist, like a hotdog with toothpaste instead of ketchup and mustard.
adrenal cycle
for my project i have chosen to represent the first part of the adrenal cycle, or the late alarm phase. i have chosen my artist influence as Matthew barney, as one does. I will be focusing on the metaphorical discomfort that one gets when has a rise in adrenaline and the keyed- up feeling of an adrenaline rush. Following barney's cues, i wanted to create an independent aesthetic system where i would use the specific color scheme of dark reds and greens and browns along with cohesive patterns and visual symbols along with metaphorical symbols throughout the series. I have chosen to also include along with the photos: sculptures, drawings, and a short film. For the film, i have chosen an office setting, so i will do my out of studio photos in this office setting. for the studio photos im sure of, im going to freeze eyeballs into ice and photograph that on top of fabrics that match my color scheme. i am also working with the idea of painting the augmented vein system in the color palette, but i am undecided on if i will use this for sculpture or still life. i am choosing not really to reveal my choice in the short film because i want them to be a surprise, but i am planning on doing a patch shirt in the colors of the theme that will also be used as one of my sculptures. of course, im seeing somewhat difficulty in making this project be purely still life since it is about a human function, but i think that will be a much more dramatic effect if i pull it off correctly (i hope). however, i will be doing the other 3 phases as themes for my other projects with eh same aesthetic system and just following the perameters of the following projects. this project is starting with the second phase, and i will be going out of order on the phases, like barney, but also to show the discomfort but also the feeling of jumping around on adrenaline. i have planned most of my photos but i dont want to give them all away or tell the depths of my metaphors until the presentation because i feel as though it will be much more meaningful. i apologize that i did not choose a "still life" photographer for my inspiration but i feel like barney's was the basis for my project and therefore he should be the influence. i also want to engage the viewers in some way that i have not decided yet. the project will also be heavily grounded in scientific research in the cycle that i am currently investigating.
still life on deck
for my project i was thinking of using different forms of light to change the emotion of a picture.
I was thinking diptychs and some that have a very prevalent emotion alone.
Blue tones would also be used as would warm colored light like reds and orange.
I was thinking of using glass, mirrors, and sheer things to really help capture the light.
I also want each image to be somewhat of a narrative image. I want it to tell you a story .
this is an idea id be very interested in trying, the lighting concept is exactly what I'm looking for .
Adela Holms' lighting techniques for when she's in the woods and such and how each pictures has a different emotion.
Next thing is I don't want the images to directly correlate. I want each image to portray its own feeling and its own story.
I very much so want to leave the image up for interpretation, although ill have my own ideas in the head about what story i want the image to have, its up to me to make them feel it and make them see it. That is my mission

Still Life Project
My project will be about waste that humans or we as a society leave behind. My goal is to portray the destructive influence we have on the world. In studio, I will use filters to make the lights different colors. Possible objects that I will use in studio include rotten fruit, plastic bags, and styrofoam. Out of studio, I will make my photos desaturated to represent the bleak impact we have on our world, taking pictures of dumpsters, abandoned buildings, and archaic tools. An artist that relates to my project would be Mathew Merrett, who photographs decay.
still life
My concept for the still life project is mixing "real" foods with "fake" foods. As in composing images that have a part of the healthy food taken out and replaced with something unhealthy. For example, Vanessa McKeown, my inspiration for this project, created an image where she took the pit of a halved avocado and replaced it with sprinkles. I intend to have very bright, yet even images with a solid colorful background with the subject also being colorful. But having it all be cohesive. Showing the contrast and clear difference between the healthy and unhealthy is my intention for some of the images. Others, I would just have two foods representing an idea or visual picture. Maybe even combining the two foods together to appear as another would be a nice nice idea for some.
Still-Life Project
For my still life project, I am going to take photos of food in places where the colors are very cohesive. Along with this, I am going to try to match up foods with objects that people would think of or use when eating this food, such as chopsticks or other items. In the project, my lighting will vary throughout the photos depending on the food.
concept
for my project I am choosing to do eggs. I really like the simplistic idea of them. I also really like the color of the eggs because they are all neutral like brown and white but you can easily change the color of them at the same time. I also like the idea of eggs because you can fill them with anything you want. For in the studio I plan on doing them in the carton and out of studio I plan on focusing on the use of them like cooking.

ive been studying the memeconomy
For my project, I have chosen to make a beautiful representation of the thing I love most in this world: memes. I will create images that are the interpretation of a meme. These images will also be conceptually deep and apply new techniques. In my presentation, I will first present the image, then a diptych of the image and the meme it represents on the next slide. The viewers will be invited to guess which "type" of meme this represents before the diptych is revealed.
Concept
My theme for this project will be unity and togetherness. I am going to try to photograph unity in a symbolic way and a literal way. For the symbolic photographs, I will try to take photos of objects that represent unity like a ring, buildings, bridges, and places that represent unity. For the literal pictures, I am going to try to take pictures of relationships, bridges joining two places, and people that are all together. To produce these images, I am going to take a lot of the building at night and use a long exposures to try to get nice lighting.
concept
My concept for this project is harshness and decay. I am going to take pictures relating to decay such as rotting fruit. I am also going to go to places representative of decay such as the cemetery. I am going to go to harsh places such as the outside of the jail fence. I am going to try to find places with harsh lines and light also. I also am going to do a diptych of fruit rotting and a long exposure of something decaying into the ground.
For my project I'm using the concept of layers and showing how fake people are. I would like to use colors that are light and calming giving a monotone yet interesting feel. This project will be very eccentric and crazy but also contradicting the idea of fake. I want to show how people care about their look so much but how their personalities don't even reflect who they are trying to be.
Concept
For my project theme I am going to be doing held back. I will represent figurative obstacles and physical obstacles in my photos. I chose to photograph the obstacles to actually show what can hold you back wether it be a brick wall that can represent something you have to climb over or wether it be a light painting representing clouded judgement, etc. I will photograph how the obstacle holds you back or how the person over comes it.
project theme/plan
For my project, I plan on shooting photos that represent the theme of overcoming events from the past. To execute it, I am going to take five to six sets of two photos. The first photo of the set will be of a tragic event in one's life. It could be anywhere from the death of a loved one to the loss of a job. The second photo of the set will be of what they have done to move past that event. So, for example, for the photo of the lost loved one, I could photograph that person finding God.
concept
I received a crystal for my object. For my concept, I chose not seeing clearly instead of seeing "crystal clear". When I looked through my crystal, it looked like I was looking through a kaleidoscope. That was when I realized that everyone believes crystal are see through, but you cant really interpret whats on the other side. I will photograph instances where situations are unclear. I believe my concept will be very interesting to translate into a project.
Concept
My concept for the project is togetherness. I came up with this idea from a pipe cleaner. When I think of pipe cleaners, i think of many different colors and typed but all in one package, or together. I am going to capture my idea by taking pictures of things that would normally be thought of as being together such as a family. I feel that I can capture this idea creatively while making great photos.

Concept for Poetics Project
My concept for the poetics project is reflection because the object I got was a mirror. With my project, I am going to take images of things that reflect things, obviously. I think I am going to have literal images and symbolic images. The few ideas I have are water, windows, people's reflections on themselves, etc. I think a good balance of literal and symbolical will make this project stronger than if they were all literal.

flowers
My object was flowers. from sun flowers i got pure thoughts, to a playground, to kidnapping. For my project i am going to stage the physical and mental stages of a kidnapping. I am going to show to oppression and loss of self that comes from a kidnapping.
Statement
My item was a nail clipper and from that I got a lack of self-control. In my project, I want to portray the lack of discipline we hold ourselves to. I plan on doing this by exploiting what tempts us. We all have different reasons for abandoning any control we have over ourselves. I want to capture people when they have no self-control or discipline
toy soldier
My object is a plastic and blue toy soldier. Through my word map, I decided that to me the toy soldier mostly represents how the past is always there, you can't undo it. I was thinking about how when some soldiers come home from war they have nightmares about the past, and they seem to not be able to get away from it. This inspired my theme, which is the idea of having the past follow you. I plan to shoot most of my pictures in the studio and in darker atmospheres.
Poetics Concept: Clamp
My object is a clamp and my project's theme is based off of the idea of textures. My series includes visually cohesive pictures of the different types of textures, like scratchy, bruised, spotted, wrinkly, or empty. My theme in turn is of a darker sort because of the intrinsic quality of texture and harder visuals. I tried to create photos that made the viewer look for a long time and be interested or intrigued by each picture's texture. The series is cohesive and connected through the way each photo feels and looks, evoking how one can imagine each image would feel.
speculation
For my project I chose to focus on unexpected beauty. I am going to capture the beauty and excitement within darkness. And I am also going to capture the harshness and the discomfort within light. People portray light as happy and joyful and darkness as scary and evil. I intend to reverse their speculations on how darkness and light are portrayed. I intend for my audience to leave with a different thought on how they see light and dark.
concept
My concept is propaganda. Propaganda is defined as information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view. This to me is a very powerful concept and it affects our generation today. Propaganda is everywhere. Thinking for your self is what creates ideas, and anything new. This also helps w a new perspective. Being open is everything.

Friday, September 23, 2016
I took this picture because my object was a little blue toy soldier and the main thing I traced that back to was the aftermath of war. I tried to convey how some soldiers have nightmares and awful thoughts about war that they feel they can't block out or get away from. I chose to take this picture because It captures how she is trying to block out her thoughts and her nightmares. This image could be stronger in a lot of ways, including turning off the lights in the room behind the door. I think it is a good start concept-wise to my project.
jaida
for my project my object is a hammer. on my mind map, the first word I came up with was hardships. From hardships i got to words like adversity, childhood and unawareness. For the theme of my project I think im going to capture unawareness and innocence. All in all i want the people viewing my pictures to interpret them how they would like to, and hopefully be looped into childhood.
symbolism project
This image portrays my theme of decay. I got this theme from the rust on my object, a tack. In this image decay is shown because Lauren is laying on dirt and is "dead". The leaves on her face show her decaying back into the ground. The darkness of the dirt she is laying on symbolizes the darkness of death and decaying. For this project I am going to try to convey harshness in the decaying of people and objects.
Project idea
I received a bobby pin for my project. For my theme, I was thinking of holding bad or being organized vs messy. I really think that holding back would be a better theme and more for interpretation. I want to take photos of a person being held back by an obstacle or by a figurative obstacle. I feel that this project will be strong as long as I stay on track and not stray from my theme.
Symbolism project
This photo displays the theme of unity. I got this idea of unity from my object, a metal link. The unity is shown through the linked arms and the two locks that are locked together in the background. Also, the unity is shown, in a symbolic way, through Sidney and Lauren having the same colored shirt on. For this project, I am going to try to convey unity through family, friends, and other relationships or objects that represent unity like a ring.
michelle likes pictures
My theme for my images is going to be fake. Knowing this theme is a little cliche my goal in this image is to go outside the box with this theme. This image is not anything like I want my actual series to turn out honestly, this is just the literal way of going. Hopefully my images will have a more pastel theme which is what I am trying to go for.
crystal
I received a crystal for my project. For my theme, I chose not seeing clearly instead of seeing "crystal clear". When I looked through my crystal, it looks like I was looking through a kaleidoscope. That was when I realized that everyone believes crystals are clear, but you cant really see through them. I will photograph instances where situations are not clear.
symbolism project
My theme for this project is taking pictures of things that flowers symbolize. In this photo, roses symbolize love, like this photo. Many flowers symbolize feelings and emotions will i will try to capture through both people and objects. Im going to try to incorporate many of the techniques from the light project like stop motion and long exposure.
Object Project Theme
The object that I got was a hand held mirror. So far for this project, I have thought of the theme "prevention". I feel that mirrors provide a distorted image for how people truly look and how other people view them. Fire extinguishers prevent fires from spreading and becoming out of control. Mirrors often make skinny people feel fat, pretty people think they're ugly, or not good enough for other people. I think that mirrors take away from self worth and provide a false image in people's minds, especially teenage girls.
My theme is oppression. The brick wall shows the sadness but the light parts shows how some people are free and not judged etc. this most likely is the 1% that the whole word treats like royalty.
Sadly, this leaves some people impoverished
Project
For my project I want to represent fear in its various forms. Everyone has something they are afraid of, and I want to capture the emotions in each person when they face their fears. For instance, in this picture Michelle is afraid of heights. I am also planning on doing a self portrait of me faced with my fear, balloons, in my project.
object photo - lauren driver
My object was an eraser, and the symbolism behind an eraser is leaving behind past identities and/or interests. In this photo, Dylan is wiping away his past ideas, thoughts, and beliefs. He is in front of a brick wall because life is hard and is the cause of people leaving themselves behind. This photo is not particularly successful, but I think the idea behind it can be developed further to produce a successful image.
the enlightened one: jesse leonard
For my project, I had chosen the theme of reaching a higher consciousness of knowledge and depth. In my original brainstorming for my photos, I had thought of doing several multiple exposures. However, I could clearly not do that with a cell phone. So instead, I followed the story of Siddhartha Gautama becoming the buddha. It is said after his period of suffering, he was sitting under a tree when a warm beam of sunlight shone on his face, and he became enlightened. So I attempted to capture this moment in this image, for I could not do any sort of advance techniques with a cell phone. However, I do believe I successfully captured symmetry on either side of the figure and the tree and the splotches of sunlight on the ground create nice repetition, along with the image as a whole having a nice sense of unity. While the image is not particularly interesting, I believe it was nicely exposed and technically acceptable.
Mapping proj one photo
My object is a clamp and this picture is representative of my theme of textures and sort of the rough things about humans and the world they live in. Some of the words I came up with from my mapping of the clamp are rough off of darkness, leading to broken, texture, dry, scratchy, etc. I think I could make some very interesting photos if I created a series of darkly themed photographs that show texture and the depth of imperfect but intriguing things. This picture of ripped paper, an old dark staircase, and a wrinkly human elbow and the joints of fingers pushing them together demonstrate my theme.

shed the light
My theme for this project is "Shedding the light". I will be searching and capturing the excitement and beauty within the darkness of the light, and the harshness and hardships of the bright daytime. I think of elevators as peaceful, even though the light inside is very dark, they send a sense of calmness. The elevator movement and music adds to the peacefulness of elevators.
Chair
My item was a pipe cleaner. I thought of pipe cleaners of being very fuzzy which leads to cozy which leads to bed/chair. Also, when people are tired in this class they sit on this chair because it feels cozy which leads to fuzzy which leads to pipe cleaner

jaida
this is my least successful image. because of the streakiness in the background. i think the french fries are a little dark and i also think that this image is a little over edited. before the editing the image had a better but distracting composition. if i had put it together better i think it could have been a more successful image.
this is the worst image from my project. I dont like this image because it is slightly off focus and the angle is not that pleasing. I wish there was a better reflection and less stuff in the pool. I would probably try shooting a lot closer or in the pool.
worst pic
This is my worst image. It is super over exposed. It is also ugly. There are too many light sources in this picture and it results in several glares.

worst photo!!!
This is my least favorite picture from my light project because it does not fit with my theme as well as I wanted it to. When I took this picture, I went outside for a lot of hours a day and a half before the tropical storm Hermine hit Jacksonville because I wanted to take my 3x a day pictures of the rain. Unfortunately, I was not able to capture my 3x a day pictures in the rain because it didn't even rain until like super late so I just used the picture with the rain for my long exposure because it didn't fit in well with my triptych. I was very upset that hurricane Hermine didn't bring rain when I needed it to! When hurricane Hermine did hit, I no longer had the tripod rented out so I could not redo the 3x a day. I also don'y like this picture because the roof and horizon line do not line up in all three pictures. Overall, I believe that this is my weakest/worst photo in my light project.
Worst light picture
In this picture, I tried to compose a multiple exposure. I don't like this picture for many reasons. First off, I feel that this picture is bland and I could could have composed it in a more interesting manor. Secondly, I don't like how you can't see most of the lightbulb when it is falling. Thirdly, I don't like how all of the colors do not go together. Finally, I feel like the photo is slightly blurry.
