Concept

For my still life project my concept is going to be mismatch. I am going to shoot things that do not go together and try to make them fit together in an image pleasing to the eye. I was inspired by marcel Christ who makes very aesthetically pleasing colorful images using things that do not necessarily go together.

food blog

For my blog post, I decided to take a picture of the table I was at when I went to Burgerfi with a few friends because because I liked all the monochromatic tones that really made the image feel warm but also unhealthy, just like burgerfi is. I think this photo would have been better if I was not using the lense I had on my camera at the time because it is a zoom lense so I was not able to capture more of the table, environment in the restaurant, and more of the food. I think this picture is slightly chaotic but I do not think it necessarily takes away from the picture. Since this is a still life, I wanted to create a feeling where it seemed slightly chaotic and realistic.

Food

Since it is halloween, for my photo, I thought of candy and how it makes people feel. Personally, when I think of candy, I think of happiness and sweetness. In a symbolic way, there is a lot of happiness in this photo because of the amount of candy. However, you could view candy in a negative way, in the sense that is unhealthy.

glitter pics yo

This is my plate because its food i enjoy. The glitter is there because of the additives that are in normal food. The glitter makes it look pretty but the taste is better w/o it.
For my still life I am going to shoot different types of drinks with different cups to show the variation. Much like the variation in people. The cups represent different people and the drink represents their different personalities.

food

For my food project I decided to photograph meat because my family and I have this inside joke that we are carnivores because we eat a lot of meat for lunch and dinner.

Food Project

For this project, I chose not to photograph an actual meal. Instead, I broke the meal down, looking at its ingredients. I think the monochromatic color gives the feeling of blandness. I tired to create this feeling in order to demonstrate the way the simplicity of these ingredients. Although I didn't take photos of a coherent meal, my photo looks deeper than the simple surface level.

festive food

My theme for this project is holiday or event themed desserts. I used typical aspects of the holiday or things that i felt represented the holiday. I wanted to use different forms of light and different focal points to allow the viewer to react in a personalized way to the photos. I wanted to capture the food but also the importance of the food in relation to the event. i used Christmas, Thanksgiving, and a birthday because those are some of the most important times of the year for families.

not my best image but blog

My concept for next week has to do with fast food, so I made my blog for this week also about fast food.

phoebe

For this project, I tried to capture an alternate way of making a certain food. For my example, I put a soft taco in the oven. It still tasted good.

sprinkles

for my project i went for the theme of happiness so i used sprinkles and glitter.

rainbow food

I really like this image, it turned out better than I thought it would. I really think this is one of my best images. I retrieved all these fruits and veggie from my fridge.

mini still life

For my image I photographed candy because that's what I ate for dinner on Halloween lol. I dumped out a bunch of candy on my dining room table and my camera had a five second exposure. I tuned on the flash so that the candy wrappers looked very vibrant. During the 5 second exposure I zoomed the camera lens in and out.

Mini Food Project

My project displays somewhat two of my attitudes when eating. The first photo is a really good savory bagel pictured on my bed, which is what I feel like eating most of the time haha. Eating in bed is just such a comfort-- if you're eating what you want you might as well eat it when you're comfy right?? The second photo was me feeling healthy pictured on my bright windowsill because it is a really nice looking meal and nutritionally well-viewed. These were two very yummy meals and I enjoyed them.

Picture

For my photo, I tried to show the little details in the image. Everything is purposely set up, the fork position, the icing on the fork, and others. I also tried to let the colors flow as it is a dark cake on a dark background with a dark colored fork. All though there are a lot of dark colors, the orange and white on the cake make the image pop and pleasing to the eye.

Object

For this project I was trying to capture the different ways food is served and then eaten by not only the composition of the image but also the lighting. My first image of sushi captures a more separate way of serving and eating dinner. I placed the sushi plates away from each other and intentionally cropped out the ends of the chopsticks to convey a separate feeling. For my second image I tried to capture another way of eating, more of a casual family style. I positioned the forks more casually and tried to use warmer lighting to show this concept.

Concept

For my project, I plan on photographing monochromatic still life images, whose main focus revolves around nature. I plan on having the main focus of the image surrounded by non-natural items that contribute to the monochromatic state of the image. I was inspired by Stella Alesi, as many of her still life photographs are monochromatic.

welcome to moes

well, for my project, i wanted to show how sad my meals are. several months ago, after seeing a meme about takeout trays floating, i decided to try it. the saddest part is when i told my friend about this, she said "haha you don't have enough time with your classes so you have to eat and bathe at the same time!" i just laughed along, but truly, i just eat in the bath because it is the only place in my void of a home that is warm. i actually cannot get warm under the covers of my own bed. what is not pictured is a chair with my laptop playing whatever sad episode of whatever sad tv show im watching. because my life is that sad. it is just that sad :3

My goal for this project was to show which dinners my siblings and I look forward to or dread the most through the lighting of the photograph. Baked chicken with rice and carrots is among the most dreaded dinners we have, so I placed the meal on a dark table and underexposed. On the other hand, spaghetti and bread is a dinner my siblings and I look forward to, so I made the image much brighter, and attempted to make the meal look more appealing. I intentionally left the oven door open in the image with the spaghetti and bread to show how the bread was freshly made. I think I was successful in conveying the dreaded and not-so-dreaded dinners through the lighting in these photographs, because the spaghetti looks much more appetizing than the chicken.
