gallery chair picture

I think the lines and slight color contrast in this image make it very successful. Also the shadow on the chair highlights the edge of the chair and the slits in between the shadow which create very satisfying lines which also curve a little to move your eye around the image. This movement is balanced because it draws your eyes to the right side of the image which has more of a gray tint, then your eye follows the light shadow over the chair to the darker left side and then back through the lighter parts of the back of the chair for a continuos movement. I really like how this image turns something very simple, a chair, into something complex using shadows. Overall I believe that the use of design properties and light tricks make this a very successful and satisfying image.
