I think the above image was very successful. I like the way the viewer has to look at the image closely and carefully in order to understand what is in it, even though the photo itself is very simple. After a close look, the viewer will be able to tell that the photo is of a human stomach. After coming to this realization, the parts of the stomach become very easy to see; they are very defined. Because of this, there is movement within the image...the viewer's eye will move from the belly button, to the crease in the bottom of the stomach, to the different shades of colors. The lighting in this photo was also very successful, because it highlights the pieces of the photo that contribute to the understanding of what is in this image. Overall, I think this image was successful because of its complexity yet simplicity, its movement, and its lighting.
